In the West, Liu Xiaobo (1955-2017) is known as a human rights activist. He is also a mourned Nobel Peace Prize winner. He is even said to be called China’s Nelson Mandela. But very fortunately and thankfully, he was not at all China’s Nelson Mandela. Just look at what a terrible mess he left his country in, with his bad governance of a South Africa that could have potentially become the first developed country in Africa.
